Today, an article i wrote for my article marketing campaign was distributed with the SitePro News newsletter/ezine. It was the main focus of the news letter and the title of my article was the title of the email. So far i have registered almost 400 page views (compared to a usual, but rising, 100 -> 120). This is from 125 different visitors which shows the quality of the traffic because the visitors are looking at a number of different pages.

Well, after finishing syndicating my first article i have built up a list of 34 websites that will accept my articles.
I have started submitting my second article and am 4 submissions in but I'll continue that tomorow.

Today I started my article marketing campaign. Article writing is an effective and potentially quick way to get links and traffic. Articles can be created by making minor edits to content already published on your site, so it need not be too time consuming a task. Also, the submission of articles can be automated with the right software or by employing a third party service.

I manually sought out appropriate article directories and submitted my first article to, so far, 14 article directories. I have not finished building my list of article directories however. I have yet to search Google for: "KEYWORD articles" submit. This will show me pages I can submit certain articles to. Once i have built up my list from submitting this first article, I’m sure it will be a much quicker task in the future.

Like most things in SEO, it’s monotonous. But the rewards will make it worthwhile. Time to hit the coffee..........

It used to be that you could go to loads of directories, submit your link to as many as you could and then proceed to laugh all the way to the bank. This no longer works and is a dark ages SEO technique because the links from the directories are normally not relevant and so have no real value. A link from a large directory is useless because firstly the directory is large and therefore linking to many other pages, secondly it is not very relevant to your websites subject. What you need is a small, niche directory. For example, a football results website would want a link from a directory that only contained football results websites. A link from a directory of sports websites would not be useless, but it would be of lower quality because the directory is more diverse. So, try searching Google for “website-type + directory” (eg. “SEO directory” )

Today i added my site to 7 niche directories for free. It took all night to weed them out of the abundance of paid options, but im sure it will have been worth it.

Social Search Engines/Social Bookmarking can drive massive amounts of traffic to your site and also get you loads of quality links. Its an excellent SEO and Web promotion technique. If your site has quality, informative and useful content then you can submit it to the sites below:

I added links to digg, del.icio.us , reddit and a new service from yahoo!.
Links were added to the bottom of all articles and all other relevant content pages. I hope this will drive high quality traffic to sharethewealth.co.uk as there is a lot of quality content to recommend to others.

I think all of the links are working now, no doubt more will turn up.

I started a small article marketing campaign a few days ago. This was more for testing the water than actually generating traffic. From this tester i was able to see which article websites allowed my article and published it. Also i now have article database/site accounts to use when i properly start the article marketing campaign.

Next step: social bookmarking accounts..................

After changing the structure of a few sections of the site, i have created more tedious work for myself.
Giving search engine optimization its own folder on my server, to neaten the URL and site in general, has meant i have to update a large number of links. A lot more than i though it would.
A Coffee break i think. Or maybe i can find some paint drying..........

To bring the blog up to date, as it was started part way into strategy implementation, here are the missed out parts:

Style CSS Coding
I redesigned my whole site so that it was laid out and styled in CSS. This was because this is beneficial from a search engine optimization point of view and also creates cross-browser compatibility.

Issues encountered:
I had a lot of problems getting the cross-browser compatibility. Firefox displayed very differently to ie6 for a while, but these problems have been ironed out. They were mainly caused because i had to learn CSS as i had not encountered it before.

Keyword Research
I have begun researching keywords and selecting the most effective to target for each page. Then i have optimizaed the page content and code for search engines using Web CEO. This is proving a very tedious and time consuming task. I have probably done about 15% of this task so far.

The Website Promotion Experiment is a completely documented implementation of an expertly devised promotion strategy.
The strategy implementation will be documented alongside traffic statistics to show; a) how effective the strategy is in increasing traffic and b) how effective each component of the strategy is.

The traffic volume to sharethewealth.co.uk before launch was roughly 15 - 20 hits per day. No other page recieved much more than an average of 0.3 hits per day.

I am aiming for a 10 fold increase in traffic at the very least -after website promotion is completed.
